Barukheda Temple
Shiva Temple of Barukheda Barukheda, located just four kilometers north of Neemuch, was a very important city in the Rajput period. There are 4 temples built from ancient remains here, which are built in the Nagar style. There is a Charbhuja temple to the east of Barukheda. This temple was earlier deserted, which was inhabited by the villagers and an idol of Vishnu was installed. Its pillars are influenced by the Parmar era style. The first two of them have the depiction of Ashta Mata. There is a Navgrah plaque on the door branch of the sanctum sanctorum, the peak has the idols of Vishnu, Uma Maheshwar and Varaha.
There is a deserted Shiva temple to the south of Barukheda. It was built on Samvat 1624 Sawan Sudi Ashtami or Dashami. The inscription of Dr. Aashay is inscribed on the dome of the Sabha Mandap. Sankar, Nathu, Soma, Nathu Mota, Pitha were the collaborators in the construction of this temple. Village. There is a third temple in the south-west, this is also a Shiva temple. The door branches of the sanctum sanctorum are artistic. On the forehead of Uttarang, there is a depiction of Shiva on the right, Vishnu Yamuna and Shiva on the left. Who are holding akshamal, trishul, khatvang and urn. On the left is Kurma Vahini Ganga and Shiva who are holding Varad Trishul, snake and urn. Of the two door branches, there is a depiction of Kuber below the right side and Ganesh below the left side.
On the outside of the temple, there is a statue of sixteen-armed Chamunda, behind Vishnu and fourteen-armed dancing Shiva. From the point of view of iconography, this is one of the important statues of India.
On the western northern corner of Barukheda, there is a huge temple made of yellow sandstone on a platform prepared with lime from black boulders. Its peak is half-decomposed. On the lower part of the sanctum sanctorum, on the right side there are musicians, a group, Ganesha in the middle forehead image, on the left side there are depictions of four devotees in which two are meditating and the third is shown holding his ear, while in the last Rathika there is a depiction of Parvati. Apart from Ganeshji and Bhairava, there is also the statue of Saraswati. The construction period of this temple could be 16-17th century. All the temples of Barukheda are protected monuments of Madhya Pradesh Archaeological Department.
